La veriter lor ban profeser collez.

Ziska zordi zot travail depi 1430. kifaire ? Apres 1430 zot kave ale zot lakaz corrige papier test, corrige devoir ,prepare zot notes etc.

You do know you will be making lot of enemies?LoL..
I will be replying much later..
Since I have to remember something which I had heard on the radio..
    just a brief.
The teachers have no objection of working till 15.00.Their only concern is that.
This happened after the PRB report..
I will come to that later..
Busy going to complete some works.Till then..Yush, stop making enemies..:p

  2. angelmandini says:

Well Yush, the question here is that when the teachers are staying at school for 30 minutes more, are the students staying too? As far as I could understand, students would be “freed” as usual except teachers would be staying till 15hrs?
    Est-ce-vrai?
    Cheers

  5. Shah says:

    It’s become a tradition – private tuition.
Is it not simple for The Ministry of Education folks to stress on the fact that a teacher who is on the government payroll cannot work the same job on the side, provided he isn’t employed full time by the gov? A teacher who gives private tuition should register himself at the IVTB is subjected to taxes for he takes money. A teacher on the gov. payroll who gives private tuition should be fined and thrown in jail.
Regular assessment of teachers in schools should be done.

Still, the entire educational system needs to be reformed. Oh well, success @ college(equivalent to high school) in Mauritius = Learning by Heart + be subjected to spoon feeding.

No wonder, many suck at tertiary level.

A full time teacher @ heart on the gov. payroll would do the following: http://xkcd.com/470/ at the protests.

  6. yupri says:

shah mwa si mo dakord ek teachers working in govt and givin private tuitions should be tax .. it a money whic is not declared to government and income ca .. i was thinkin to send un “let ” on that to forum le mauricien

  8. yupri says:

@ neha la vie dure pu zot ein ….

  9. Shah says:

@neha, how much are your tuition fees overall? Are there students who attend private tuition provided by the teacher who teaches them in class? Has anyone ever confronted the teachers about his lack of interest at work? Are there any true teachers at heart at your school?

Sorry for bothering you with so many questions, but answering these may bring more light on the topic statement. Thank you.

  10. neha says:

  11. Avish says:

@ chaya: in response to what u said “Parske c bete ke les profs soient la, et les zeleves partent chez soi!”.

I dnt think so. Because teachers job is not only to go in a class and fer l’interessant devant tableau as many teachers do!! Even after the classes are over the teachers can still remain at school to do their notes and other jobs related stuffs.

And its true about the 6th period meeting! Most staffs meeting are held either in the morning or during the 6th period! And hence its student who waste their time waiting for the prof fini zot meeting! They can use the time after school to do meeting stuffs too!!

  12. Avish says:

@ shah: Teachers are the worst TAX avoiders!!! Most of those who are known as ban grand tuition lords…lol…. earn more than 10 times their basic teacher wages from tuition only!!!!

This money should be taxable!!!! I guess it is too HARD for the gov to place a law which say a teacher cannot give personal tuition as this shit part of our education system has been here since such a long dirty time. WHen I was at college i took NO tuition at till form 5!!

AT form 5 i took ONLY biology tuition. why?? not because the school teacher was bad….but beacause the bio teacher i had at school was just the best and i took the tuition only to work more exam papers…

at hsc i took n o tution!!!! i started to took G.P and chemistry tuition but felt it was a waste of time. SO i work on my own. I can say that i didnt depend on tuition to work well! And my hsc result are good! So i think its useless that parent FEED their child with private tuitions so much! There is smthing called personal work!!!!!

  13. Avish says:

hahaha neha in vine lor to blog yusha???? LOL … eh neha to doit moi rs3!!!!!! mo ti aste un bon bon pu toi lot foi!!! yusha in donne toi ?? LOL :D

  14. Daks says:

moa kn mo ti dan hsc, mo ti traumatisE r mo prof accs!!!! e li pa ti p montrer bien ditu…au contraire nek li ti p crie en nous, e sa ti p fer nu detester accs…

  15. Shah says:

Like Avish said, stay @ home after classes and learn by yourself.
    ———–
@neha: you’re in Form 3??!!! And attending tuition classes?! *gasp* You’re young. Get yourself a life and learn by yourself. If you need any help, ask your friends or a teacher. The library is your friend.

There are teachers who are willing to do correct some of your personal work, and help you out. Hard work cannot be determined by the amount of tuition classes attended but how much you devote yourself to studying.
Maybe it’s time for kids like Neha to grow up when it comes to knowing how to study.

Sure, do take extra practical classes for science (if you’re into the sci. field) for you won’t have the apparatus at home.

Work hard. I wish you to achieve brilliantly.
    ———

@Daks- it truly sucks. on the bright side, you’re in uni and you sure will be brilliant. it’s a slap in the faces of that teacher and all those who didn’t believe in you or who were mean to you. PWN them all.

  16. Chaya says:

@ Avish: mo dakor zot bizin prepare zot notes but provided ki zot teach properly pu ki zot p prepare notes!
si zot nek vine en classe ek done devoirs, ki notes zot pu prepare?

I was lucky enough to get enough good teachers for my hsc, malgre tou, mo ti pran lesson! (La tradition s’impose!)

@ Shah (though u didn’t ask) : my hsc tui fees were as follows:
physics: Rs. 450 (theory + practical) Ti p ale ha lesson la 3 fois par semaine–2 theory sessions and 1 practical.
Chemistry: Rs. 650 (theory + practical)
    Maths: Rs 350
    GP: Rs 350
    All fees per month.
For some 3-4 years back (lower n upper 6), it’s somewhat “ok” to pay, but avek bane increments ki ena de nos jours, i guess the fees in bizin monter!

@ Daks: vraimem ena bane prof ki fer toi degoute subjects which u like, and the challenge is to show that teacher that u can equally get an A by working hard by urself!

    Cheers

    Chaya

I started taking tuition in form 5..only English, computer{was doing only past papers} and maths{ i did hate maths..infact still hates that}..
    mwa mo tuition fees ti as follows{pe cose pou hsc la.}
    GP–>Rs250
    Maths–>Rs300{p1,p3,s1,m1 included}
    computer–>Rs250{from 09.00 to 13.00}

To note neha .. li bisin prend lecon ,,, akoz zenfant plus paresse ki li pena .. dans lekol li pas comprend narien …kan mo montrer li li laguere ek mwa .. so no way out apres dans lecon she get indivudual attention .. in maths she used to get 40 marks .. now its 80 ..

  19. Avish says:

enfait prof la pa ti pren cash em li…. lerla we decide to fix a price and pay him ourselves.

  20. tushal says:

@yusha–>i will be glad to help her in her studies..

    @avish–>tarrrrrrr…:p

    bez sa quan malade la..lol..

“To note neha .. li bisin prend lecon ,,, akoz zenfant plus paresse ki li pena .. dans lekol li pas comprend narien …kan mo montrer li li laguere ek mwa .. so no way out apres dans lecon she get indivudual attention .. in maths she used to get 40 marks .. now its 80 ..”

    @ Yusha:

Girl on girl fighting! That’s strangely erotic. No offense, Avish.

Seriously though, it’s entirely “normal” for sisters to “fight.” But do take care of her. She’s your sibling. Hey, there’s no such thing as lazy. However, I’m guessing the teacher who provides her with “individual attention” solved the issue of working on ones’ own. It’s spoon feeding but I guess it’s required in order for her to grasp the understanding of things which were blurred to her. Anyway, I wish her to work hard and to succeed.

“si lecturer uni pa pe kone explain..alors 1 prof college..LoL..”

@ Tushal – A lecturer’s role is to show up, read slides, give you an overview and that’s it. It’s up to you to explain things to yourself through research work.

@ Chaya – wow! You’re fueling them with money. I do agree that off-school practical-lab sessions are a must though.

“Eh en passant lecon biology mo ti p dir zot la….lit iselment rs150 pou 2 jour par semain..(papers and practical)!!!!”

    @Avish – Are you kidding?

  22. Chaya says:

@ Shah: Though have been fueling those people with money, i must tuition + personal hardwork did lots of good and results were pretty good. Tuition is Fashion mo dakor, but provided it’s quality.

My tuitions usually consisted working all sorts of possible questions, and working all the exams questions and papers. Plus Sample papers as well.

Li semblable a ene classe a lekol! And wat’s the difference?

Nowadays, tuition is not only fashionable but it’s a business as well!

@ Yusha: Neha ur sis? Pa la guerre ek li ou dir li pa la guerre ek toi! I’ll be glad to help her in her studies provided lui oci done des peines! Mais mo ena buku patience pu explain :)

    Cheers

    Chaya

  23. Avish says:

@shah: no its true. only rs150. but the tuition we used to go to illot to take that. a small village in the north sa.

But i am grateful to that teacher always. He made me a disctinction in that…

but now i dnt think there still have lots of teachers like this….

  24. Sailesh says:

Very interesting article & it got the point as well, i think teachers of nowadays are simply too lazy and care only for their income not quality of education and future of his students

  25. yupri says:

Thxs everyone who is ready to help my demon sister ….. next year mo avoye li kot zot lol

@sailesh you are right and it is a fact .. many teachers care only for income

  26. Tehs says:

I dnt think working till 3 in the afternoon will help a great deal. Not even 1/4 of students will b willing to stay bak to ask for help. Most probably the intelligent ones may stay bak but those who really need help will b more interested in going bak home early, meeting friends n watching tv! Everybody will want to catch the scl bus either 2 go bak hme or 2 go n take tuition. It is worth watching the students running to catch the scl bus; not only 2 catch it but they want 2 av a seat as well. N i bet these same students will not participate in cross country or on sports day!!!
Let alone give tuitions, teachers continue working even at home. They have to prepare tests, exams papers, correct homeworks n test papers and on top of all, prepare lessons. Teachers’ wrk do not start n finish with scl hours but go well beyond that. Teachers also help with personal problems. Also, it cannot be generalized that all teachers do not work at scl n that they only do so wen they give tuitions. I think that working 30 surplus min does not justify the cause!!!!! Atleast not for the reasons given by the minister till date!

  27. yupri says:

haha tehs :) “It is worth watching the students running to catch the scl bus; not only 2 catch it but they want 2 av a seat as well. N i bet these same students will not participate in cross country or on sports day!!!”
