Recently one of dad client_ A french man sent him a letter .. un lettre bien interesant lor ceki li penser lor moris.Li ti envie vin arrange so lakaz ek rest moris mais li pena assez moyen.Mone met so ban point de vue xactement kuma line ecrire.
He has even categorised classes of people living in Mauritius
After that he has thxed dad for his gentillese and gave him un “conseille ” vine reste en Europe.
My dad has no intention to stay in Europe en passant.
My view
Mauritius is a luxury ,we Mauritians we got a chance to stay here, that guy simply cannot afford what we Mauritians can afford. For me he is frustrated..I am not saying that Mauritius has no social problems ,every country has social problems.
What is pitiful is that people from abroad want to come and stay in Mauritius but they just cannot afford and what are Mauritians doing? p kit pays p aler …
Come on! I’m a native and am scared to live here. I can’t drive at night alone without having some friends awakened to accompany me whenever I’ve to head to some company headquarters.
Racism incl. colour (not just the common religious hatred) is at an all time high. The corrupt roam the country at ease. What else? All political parties have a knack for not distinguishing between conceptual projects and those that are feasible (or they simply can’t go beyond the conceptual level. *cough* *metro leger* )
The towns are indeed dead during night time. Come on! If one gets out of Paradox at around say 4 AM, there’s nowhere else to go. Well, Grand Baie and La Prairie are alive (sort-of) but it’s still dangerous to get out.
18 burglaries in 24 hours – that was the headline of a newspaper, I believe.
There’s a crisis of crises and instead of untying the knots of problems, more knots are being made to temporarily tackle some issues, creating a bigger net of crises.
Sure, every country has its own issues – from high mortgage to drugs. The thing is – most foreigners believe that Mauritius is like Ibiza but alas, it’s not. Well, it is but Mauritians are not aware of how to enjoy the scenery.
How many times do you go the beach on a monthly basis? None. There’s no true concept of leisure in MRU. I live near the beach and the amount of tourists far exceeds the number of locals. The beach is just an example.
Take a nightclub for e.g – It’s the best place to build up business contacts because there are few locals. And the sad part is – night clubs look more foreign than native, despite the sega dances performed by artists.
The truth is – one needs to be able to adapt oneself wherever his dwelling place is. I, for one, want to give up everything and live on a farm in Stellenbosh, place where one can get shot if one doesn’t agree on political issues
(But it’s worth it.)
So, the craze of this year is “let’s head to Australia.” How many of you want to go to this mighty land? Apparently, there are 100000 more women than men there. (Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7589382.stm ) Interesting, isn’t it?
Don’t look at me. I drink tea and am British and the Kingdom shall conquer Australia back! So, say we all. Kidding. But still.
the craze of goin to australia..lol bku p regret
to shah:cut this crap in everything there is good there is bad , the ying and the yang…if you want change, change it yourself why impose on others, mauritius has both pros and its cons like other countries
sorry it may seem rude but its a FACT!!
sorry repost …please delete 1st 1
want to change what? the crap around? Sorry, I’m no batman. I’m a selfish (kinda) egocentric who cares for myself only (and maybe a few others), and prefer to take advantage of the bad for my own purposes. It’s good for business and hence, I’m one who adapts and prefer not to change the status quo of good and evil in the environment around me.
Note: In the above post, I made an observation by stating the ills (mostly ills ‘coz I was referring to the letter,) and the bright side too (refer to the beach for e.g.)
mwa i know sth … its better to make a move and change sth that just criticize …critizisin is good as a first step apres bizin move to action
- Bloggers do contribute we make the move to voice out ….for the moment we are only voicing out no actions .. but i think when we will have the society it will move from actions to words
Well a quick comment:
The written french of his guy is really poor:
tranquiliter – I suppose he meant tranquilité
veriter – Well obviously verité.
acce – I am sure he meant assez
.
.
‘Anglais Potisse’ mo ti conner mais sanla mo coire ‘Francais Potisse’ sa
I am sure he is wanted in France ‘Pour le viol de la langue Francaise’
LOL!!!
We’ll I think that its not really fair to say ‘Ni la politesse’- Thats a silly generalisation. I hope he is not comparing with France, because he would be doing a serious mistake.
Being in a country as a tourist and residing there are two different things.
IMHO Mauritius is as good as any country, but people always see the greener grass elsewhere. Though you might think that you get more money as you are paid in dollars, euros and pounds, you also spend in the same currencies
As far as the brain drain is concerned, i do not find it weird mainly due to the corruption and lack of professionalism of some people who are at the top of some institutions. What i find sad is that some of the people who leave could have made a change (for the better).
You are right gavin
mo ti penser personne pane remarke ca ban fautes la .. premier zafaire when i read that letter .. mone trouve ca ban faute la eme .Nu reste dans moris , nu francais parler ek ecrit mille fois plus bon ki ena dimoune ki rest dans la france ek li ena touper critik moris …

Avish … the island is in crisis …
Bloggers should make a move to remove the crisis ….. either change the system which is impossible … or make the system bkme weak whic is possible .. just like sendin virus partous partous then the system will change by itself
Ya. Join the police force. what a great idea. Just last month, a ranked officer eased the traffic flow in some village of the north, i think, by preventing hawkers from selling their goods every corner of the streets. Surprised he was, to receive a phone call from a politician who told him, ” ki ou croire ou trop bel sef lapolis? ena avant ou ine laisse sa bann marsan ambulan-la travail. sa nou bann dimunn sa, pa kapav fer zot nanyen.” source: week end : 10/08/2008-rubric ca va se savoir. this case was to my surprise reported in the newspapers but how many unreported ones are there? “Rente dan la police” – ha! pa dan ene fim indien mone tane ca dialogue la.
I love my country but face it. Try to do something good but if it is detrimental to someone who has the right support, zen ur as good as dead meat.
au fait ena lezot pays pli pire oui e.g. african war torn countries as an example, but its never an excuse to defend those who act wrongly and prevent the peace of mind of our fellow countrymen.
yeps you right ca eme i am sayin changin the system is impossible .. changin mtian culture and mind set is very hard … adjustments kave fair
Ca boug kine écrir sa lettre la, guette zis so francé, to compran ki li ène moricien ki viv la bas. Li écrir so francé couma ène moricien coze so creole.
Bon, to d’acor ar séki mone dir. Aster toi to p mete en avan ki moris pli bon,ok. Mé to pé oussi mete en avan ki le fait ki to fer to létid UoM fer toi enkor pli bon ki lézot.
Li ène mari drawback pou so l’entreprise/business…
Mo éna boucou clients kine gagne sa kalité problem là, zot rie ban client en public ek après so sagrin parski lézot client dire ki si zot al kot sa boug là ban là zot répitation pou terni online.
@sachin ” Mé to pé oussi mete en avan ki le fait ki to fer to létid UoM fer toi enkor pli bon ki lézot.”
where did i said that ? i never said ki .. kan mo ale uom mo plus bon ki lezot .ena un tas dimounn ki mo coner pane ale universiter mais they really good in their respective field.Ale uom ki vin faire la dans.
” secret professionel ” kave to pane remarker pena aukun secret professionel la dans.
Ps merchi pu to conseil
My aim was just to blog about the view of someone not stayin in Mauritius .
Why u getting hyper about the whole issue ? I wonder
@Sachin: I dnt see where u saw that its written that UOM student are better here! Maybe its in your mind or got some problem with UOM? Don’t worry u will be able to critisiz uom as much as u want in a future post then.
@ Yusha: Its somehow right! You could have blog about this without placing the letter here! Its un ethical to post this letter here!
Mo pa pé “get hyper” ar sa sujet là, mo rassir toi. Secret professionnel, même si to pas pé dir narien ki concerne travay sa client la ek to papa, implik ki to kapav fer allision sa lettre la sans mette li. Li zis ène errer ki mo pé pointer pou ki li pas port préjudice so bizness.
@Avish, mo péna narien kont UoM, mo fier ki mo péi kapav éna ène l’iniversité. Li ti pou bon ki sa l’iniversité la amélioré ek grandi pou pran plis étidian.
@yupri: “many of them enfin ban ceki mo coner ..zot pane passe hsc with good results .. donc zot pas gagne uom .. pu declare extra zot dire nu ale lezot pays … dans moris zot pas pu kave get a simple job dimounn ki pu dire..mais abroad travaille ki gagner // waiter whteva tous lor eme”
Mone pran c ki tone dir à la lettre parski dimoun gagne diffikilté. Moi mo ti ène zélev moyen, mo frer oussi. Nou ti envi fer ban létid bien specific, moi dans l’édition, li dan aéronotik ki pa ti gagné UoM. Noune vine l’Europe avec inpé kass ki nou paran ine rode done nou ek tou lé dé noune travay pou paye l’étid. Lave drainage, waiter, macdo, cuisinier, vendange, caro zonion/l’ail.
@Sachin .. wai you are right thxs for pointing out my error .. avish in fer mwa realise that
au fait mo pane generaliser ” many of them enfin ban ceki mo coner ”
ena bku students who go abroad and work hard to achieve their aim ca i admit .
ceki mo pas dakord ki certain fair zot parent prend loan to go .. and here their parents got to work day and nite to repay that loan ..
and u r right a job is a job
“Li simp pou dire ki résilta HSC fer kalité l’esprit ène dimoune”
this is completely wrong en passant
“Li simp pou dire ki résilta HSC fer kalité l’esprit ène dimoune”
Mo pane dire ça couma ène affirmation mais ène statement ironique lor cé ki dimoune fer. Ena dimoune ki pa compran ène zafer. Kan nou al lékol, nou fer l’examen ek en fin dé kont, pa dimoune kine gagne pli bon résilta ki gagne pli bon travay.
weps that true as welll … a good future pas necesairement akoz in gagne bon resulta … apres li depend dans ki direction kiken envi aler dans lavie
